Preserve Precious Memories With A Laminating Machine

Sadly for many people it is only in later years that you realize just how many precious moments from your life were committed to nothing more than your memory which, unfortunately, is not as good as it used to be. If only you had recorded those moments. But, even when those moments were recorded all too often the photographs were popped into an old shoe box and stored in the garage where the years and the damp have taken their toll.

Every parent wants to capture the milestones in their children’s lives and wants in later life to be able to sit back and look through that cherished album of memories. Time is precious for us all and we cannot turn back the clock so preserving our memories in photographic form is vital. But photo albums and scrapbooks can so easily be destroyed by bugs and dampness and are perhaps not the safest way to safeguard your precious collection of memories.

A laminating machine could however be an excellent, simple and inexpensive solution for your problem.

No longer designed purely for large and medium sized businesses, laminating machines are seen increasingly in the home these days and are the perfect way to preserve those cherished photographs of family and friends. Photographs form undoubtedly one of the most important records of your happy childhood and of the many different beautiful places you have visited and it is always wonderful to be able to look back on these times later in your life.

Laminating your photographs is a simple process of popping each photograph into a plastic pouch and then running it through a laminating machine which heats the plastic to provide a seal around the photograph preventing dirt, damp and indeed anything else from getting at it and causing it to deteriorate.

Laminating pouches come in different thicknesses and the thickness of the pouch used will determine the rigidity of the final laminated photograph. A thin pouch for example will produce a ‘soft’ lamination so that, while perfectly preserved, the photograph will still have some bend in it and be soft to the touch. A thicker pouch will however produce a firmer result with a laminated photograph which will not bend and is solid to the touch.

Of course laminators are not limited to preserving photographs and can be used for everything from protecting your recipe cards against spills while you are cooking to preserving precious and irreplaceable family documents.
